Alu Clad Windows

Aluminium Clad wooden windows have become a popular choice for homeowners who want a maintenance free external finish for timber windows and doors. The Kingsbridge Alu Clad range brings elegant European styling and super energy efficiency together in a range of styles and finishes.

Best of both worlds; Timber windows with aluminium cladding combine the best attributes of two proven window materials. Wood has been proven over centuries to be a sustainable and trustworthy material for window making, and also creates a warm atmosphere within a home. Whereas aluminium is a modern, versatile, lightweight and indestructible material which is used to protect the external wood surface from the elements.

Passive Windows

‘Passive house’ windows are essential for homes wishing to achieve passive rated efficiency levels.

Wood – The 110mm profile timber window frames are manufactured from triple layered glue laminated and finger jointed Scandanavian Pine. Hardwood and Oak options are also available.

Hardware – This is a tilt & turn system using only the best quality German G.U. hardware to operate the sashes.

Energy Efficiency – Warm edged 44mm Low E, Argon filled triple glazing units are used in the standard timber passive window to achieve a U-value of 0.83W/m2K. Modified Alu Clad version U-Value is 0.78W/m2K

Aluminium Cladding – An aluminium cladding option is also available with an insulated timber frame which will give a U-Value of 0.78W/m2K. Optional aluminium cladding greatly improves product lifespan and are virtually maintenance free. Due to their durability, this system is ideal for use in places that are exposed to harsh elements or in places where access is restricted. See the 5 main reasons to choose aluclad windows.

Colours – Environmentally friendly micro-porous or breathable water based paint and lacquer finishes are available on all our wood products while the alu-cladding can be finished in any RAL colour.

Security – Casement timber windows and aluminium clad windows are manufactured to BS7950 for enhanced security performance.

Wood – The timber window frames are manufactured from triple layered glue laminated and finger jointed Scandanavian Pine. Hardwood and Oak options are also available.

Energy Efficiency – Timber tilt & turn windows is our most energy efficient system. The 78mm profile with a 42mm triple glazed unit can achieve a U-Value of 1.0W/m2K, and water tightness of 1500Pa. A standard 68mm profile with a 32mm unit will achieve 1.5W/m2K. This system is rebated internally and has 2 layers of gaskets ensuring an airtight seal.

This system can also be upgraded to ‘Passive’ window standard. The profile is a 110mm frame and can achieve a U-Value of 0.78W/m2K. (see passive windows)

Sound Insulation – Acouctic value of up to Rw-45dB can be achieved.

Vents can be installed in the sash or frame of wooden casement windows.
